The kickoff for Colorado at Arizona State has been set (next Saturday, 4:30 p.m., MT, Pac-12 Networks). Thoughts?
  • It is just me, or is anyone else amazed that this is CU's first Pac-12 Network game, after pretty much being the standard bearer for the Network That No One Watches for the past decade? (45%, 97 Votes)
  • I like it. Buffs get to avoid a Pac-12 After Dark game which doesn't end until after midnight (and it doesn't hurt to start to look forward to a game for which CU won't be a three-TD underdog) (42%, 91 Votes)
  • Not a fan. There is a reason why there is a prohibition on day games for Arizona and ASU in September. Is it too early to start worrying about the temperature at kickoff? (13%, 29 Votes)

Buffs open as a 23.0-point underdog to No. 8 USC (Saturday, 10:00 a.m., MT, Fox). Thoughts?
  • I'm just interested in getting through a week of "CU has never beaten USC", and another big loss, and moving on to games the Buffs have a chance at winning (40%, 118 Votes)
  • Kind of surprised that the line isn't higher, to be honest. USC is leading the nation in scoring (55.0 points/game) and the Buff defense was just shredded by Oregon. This could be an ugly game (32%, 95 Votes)
  • Not too afraid. The Trojans were 34-point favorites over Arizona State, and came up 20 points short of covering. Perhaps the same will happen this weekend (28%, 84 Votes)

No. 10 Oregon 42, No. 10 Colorado 6. Thoughts?
  • The good news is that this only counts as one "L". The Buffs will be out of the spotlight after the USC game. What happens against Arizona State and Stanford will decide whether CU will go bowling (70%, 242 Votes)
  • Colorado was exposed on both sides of the ball, and was overwhelmed by a superior opponent. It's going to be a long week ... and a long game against USC. Sigh (28%, 97 Votes)
  • Without Hunter, and without an offensive line to protect Sanders, it's only a matter of time before CU is down its best two players. The season over/under was set at 3.5 ... CU might not beat it (2%, 9 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for No. 19 Colorado at No. 10 Oregon (Saturday, 1:30 p.m., MT, ABC)
  • Teams have film on the Buffs now, and can exploit CU's weaknesses along the lines. The Buffs will come in under the 20.5-point line, but it will still be CU's first loss of the season (55%, 139 Votes)
  • The Buffs will be able to game plan without Travis Hunter on offense and defense. This team loves the underdog role, and will surprise the Ducks (and the nation) with another upset! (28%, 72 Votes)
  • Oregon is a top ten team, and has a Heisman hopeful at QB, but no one is paying any attention to them. Oregon will win the game, and pile on at the end to make a statement and beat the spread (17%, 43 Votes)

Start Date: September 22, 2023 @ 3:35 pm
End Date: No Expiry

What stat do you think will be the most telling for the Buffs as they take on the Ducks?
  • Turnovers. CU is tied for the most turnovers gained in the nation (10), but Oregon has yet to suffer a turnover in three games. If the Buffs are going to win, they'll need some turnovers (39%, 116 Votes)
  • CU's rushing numbers. The Buffs don't have to have a strong rushing attack to defeat the Ducks, but if the Buffs continue to be one-dimensional on offense, it could be a tough day for CU's offense (36%, 109 Votes)
  • Oregon's passing numbers. With Travis Hunter out, and with other defensive backs ailing, CU's ability to hold Bo Nix in check will be telling (25%, 74 Votes)

  1. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  2. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  3. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
