Report: Mountain West could start up before the Pac-12 (perhaps as early as October 24th). Thoughts?
  • Good for the Mountain West. If this will help the Pac-12 get its act together and vote Thursday to play this fall, then this is good news (44%, 84 Votes)
  • I'm just wondering whether the Pac-12 will allow teams who want to play (including possibly CU?) to actually play. Perhaps CU v. CSU on October 24th? (33%, 63 Votes)
  • The Mountain West is different from the Pac-12. I guess the country doesn't understand that the Pac-12 has California schools who have restrictions ... oh, wait, the MWC has three California teams (23%, 46 Votes)

Start Date: September 22, 2020 @ 5:00 pm
End Date: No Expiry

What would be your favorite "I'm not surprised" story of the day?
  • That Nebraska, after being the leading proponent of playing this fall, is bitching about its revised schedule, which includes an opening date at Ohio State (52%, 142 Votes)
  • That Larry Scott and others received significant bonuses (which had been moved up in time) a month before almost half of the employees for the Pac-12 were laid off (39%, 107 Votes)
  • That Stanford is (reportedly) the leading dissenting voice in the Pac-12's debate over playing football this fall, citing health and safety concerns (9%, 22 Votes)

Start Date: September 21, 2020 @ 5:09 pm
End Date: No Expiry

How would rate how the Pac-12 has dealt with the re-start issue to date?
  • Low. The Pac-12 came up with the contract for daily testing, and then did nothing. If the Big Ten hadn't acted, the Pac-12 would still be sitting on its hands. It's been an embarrassment (74%, 166 Votes)
  • Medium - really, it's an "incomplete". We'll see how the meetings go this Thursday. I am hopeful that there will be a good plan ... but I have my concerns (20%, 44 Votes)
  • High. The Pac-12 has been the most deliberate conference this fall, and that is paying dividends. The conference will have a plan which will give the fans football while keeping the players safe (6%, 13 Votes)

Start Date: September 20, 2020 @ 5:02 pm
End Date: No Expiry

How will the Pac-12 fall 2020 season schedule play out?
  • They will announce a November 7th start, and will acknowledge from the outset that the conference is not a candidate for the College Football Playoff (39%, 58 Votes)
  • They will announce an October 31st start, but will be unable to qualify a team for the College Football Playoffs (33%, 49 Votes)
  • They will announce an October 31st start, and will be able to get in enough games to qualify a team for the College Football Playoffs (28%, 42 Votes)

Start Date: September 19, 2020 @ 5:14 pm
End Date: No Expiry

Which of the following quotes gives you the most pause about the Pac-12 being back on the field on October 31st?
  • Larry Scott: "We’re going to take stock of where we are and see if we’re comfortable with a path forward before Jan. 1 ... I'm not going to push for a vote" (36%, 48 Votes)
  • Another Pac-12 head coach: "To play football, you actually have to practice football. Forget scheme, our guys are basically doing combine training. But that doesn’t get you ready to play games" (32%, 43 Votes)
  • Pac-12 head coach: "If the Pac-12 says health and safety is their No. 1 priority ... then they’re just full of sh*t. What really has changed here since last week?" (32%, 43 Votes)

  1. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  2. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  3. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
