CU picks up a commitment from a three-star outside linebacker, T.J. Patu. Thoughts?
  • This is a good looking prospect. The right size - 6'3", 210-pounds - and is versatile enough to play in the Star linebacker/safety position CU uses. Welcome, Mr. Patu! (46%, 95 Votes)
  • Every quality prospect in a position of need is welcome this year, though I will expect a higher-caliber list of commitments this time next year (if CU is again going to be able to compete for titles) (37%, 77 Votes)
  • This is as good as can be expected under the circumstances - no official visits and a new staff. Disappointed in the number of Power Five offers, however (three besides CU) (17%, 36 Votes)

Report: Pac-12 to unveil 2020 Schedule 3.0 on Saturday morning pre-game shows (ESPN and Fox). Thoughts?
  • It will be interesting to see how the CU schedule plays out. Here's betting CU starts out on the road, to give CU as much time as possible to get "permission" to play in their home stadium (54%, 72 Votes)
  • Nice. Good to see that the Pac-12 is at least trying to generate some national buzz. Beats releasing the schedule mid-week, when no one is paying attention (26%, 35 Votes)
  • Doesn't mean much. We know that CU will be stuck with a road game against a top North Division team (at Oregon? at Washington?), so it's not going to be a time for celebration for CU fans (20%, 26 Votes)

Larry Scott pushed for eight-team playoff for this season, but was voted down by the College Football Playoff committee. Thoughts?
  • I don't really care about a Pac-12 playoff bid right now. Until we get word that CU can practice, and maybe even play a game ... Who cares about the Pac-12? (49%, 92 Votes)
  • Too little; too late. If Scott really cared about the Pac-12 getting into the Playoff, he would have started pushing for practices to start right after Sept. 3rd's announcement of a testing deal (33%, 63 Votes)
  • It's good that he tried. It may have been the only chance the Pac-12 had of getting a participant. As Stanford Coach David Shaw said: "It's going to happen. We all know it" (18%, 34 Votes)

Which of the following quotes from The Athletic profile of Eric Bieniemy do you like the most?
  • Bieniemy: "I always felt if given an opportunity to compete, you won't outwork me or outshine me" (51%, 74 Votes)
  • Bieniemy at halftime of the '90 Nebraska game: "I screwed up (three lost fumbles). It will not happen again. Put it on my shoulders" (30%, 43 Votes)
  • KC HC Andy Reid: "It's all about details with him" ... Former RB Jamaal Charles: "I didn't even know how to spell details until EB got with me" (19%, 28 Votes)

Should the Pac-12 and commissioner Larry Scott be pushing for a one-year, eight-team playoff?
  • I don't really care. Yes, it would be nice to have the extra playoff payoff ($$$) from having a playoff team, but CU's not really in contention, so it's not my worry this year (49%, 92 Votes)
  • Yes. Scott should have recognized that the Pac-12's best (only?) shot at having a 7-0 champion in the playoffs is if more than four teams are chosen (39%, 73 Votes)
  • No. This year is a one-off, and no one knows if Alabama, Clemson, or Ohio State are going to have seven-plus games, either. No reason to change just for this year (12%, 24 Votes)

  1. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  2. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  3. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
