Las Vegas sets CU's odds at winning the Pac-12 at 200:1 - Are you taking that bet?
  • No, that would be a waste of money. CU was a 100:1 shot in 2016, had a much better team ... and still didn't win the Pac-12 title. No chance this roster has enough talent to make a run (48%, 80 Votes)
  • Well, if an 80:1 longshot can win the Kentucky Derby, I guess anything is possible. I think CU's chances are as good as either ASU or UCLA, and their both 8.5:1 - so CU is at least a good value bet (39%, 65 Votes)
  • Sure, it's worth a small wager to get a huge return. Every national pundit we've read underestimates CU, so why should Las Vegas be any different? Buffs have enough talent to make a run (13%, 20 Votes)

Jon Wilner on Pac-12 South division race: "CU is an easy pick for bottom of the division". Thoughts?
  • As will be the case for CU all season, its up to the Buffs to show the pundits that they are wrong. The Buffs are a losing team which lost stars - that will remain true until proven otherwise (65%, 162 Votes)
  • With the losses in the Transfer Portal, no NIL money to attract or retain talent, and no obvious All-Pac-12 candidates in the skill positions, Wilner's right. This is an easy call (18%, 45 Votes)
  • Arizona went 1-11 last season (124th in scoring offense; 101st in scoring defense) and Arizona State is a dumpster fire, but sure, CU is an easy pick for last. Not seeing it (17%, 41 Votes)

Should the Pac-12 abandon divisions, so that the two highest-ranked teams will square off for the Pac-12 title?
  • Yes. If the Pac-12 is to have any hope of getting into the College Football Playoffs with any regularity, you can't have an 8-4 division champ upsetting the conference's best team (38%, 65 Votes)
  • Depends ... When the College Football Playoff expands (and it should in a few years), the Pac-12 winner will get in regardless of record. Taking away divisions solves a problem which will solve itself (38%, 64 Votes)
  • No. The conference doesn't have to lower its standards to try and placate the power brokers. If the Pac-12 just wants USC and Oregon to play for the title every year, just say so and we can get on it (24%, 40 Votes)

What gives you the most optimism about left tackle Jake Wiley heading into the 2022 season?
  • That Wiley - and the rest of the offensive line - has an actual offensive line coach in Kyle DeVan, and are moving past the Mitch Rodrigue era (69%, 111 Votes)
  • That, despite being a member of the Recruiting Class of 2019, Wiley is only a sophomore in terms of eligibility, and has a chance to be a four-year starter at left tackle (24%, 38 Votes)
  • That, despite the issues of the 2021 season, that Wiley gained invaluable experience for the 2022 season and beyond (7%, 12 Votes)

Should Colorado boosters form a "CU Collective" to pay players, transfers and recruits?
  • CU is so far behind the curve it really doesn't matter. The top 24-36 teams should break away, form a semi-pro league, and let the remaining schools get on with playing football for championships (46%, 83 Votes)
  • Yes. I'm amazed, shocked, dismayed and disappointed this hasn't already happened. If CU is going to compete for players (and keep the ones it has), a collective is a necessary means to that end (43%, 77 Votes)
  • No. Collectives are unregulated, and few (if any) schools are playing by the rules which are already on the books concerning inducements. CU should stay above the fray (11%, 21 Votes)

  1. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  2. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  3. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
