Tad Boyle: "The future is bright. I'm disappointed in the year, but I'm not down". Thoughts?
  • My concern is that Coach Boyle won't be able to recruit in the Transfer Portal era, and that this season is a sign of things to come. Give it another year, and see if the Buffs bounce back (50%, 3 Votes)
  • We're talking about a coach who just last year led the team to a school-record 26 wins, with three NBA Draft picks, and two NCAA tournament wins. CU will bounce back (33%, 2 Votes)
  • A 14-21 record ... Last in the Big 12 with a 3-17 record ... Blowouts in the Big 12 tournament and meaningless post-season tournament. I'm beyond disappointed - I'm ready to move on (17%, 1 Votes)

Which of the Nebraska ideas being considered for "Spring Fan Fest" do you think is the most absurd?
  • Tractor pull and a BBQ competition. Nothing makes you appreciate collegiate athletics more than having a good tractor pull after a pseudo scrimmage of 12-15 minutes by the players (37%, 43 Votes)
  • Dodgeball and/or sand volleyball. One of Matt Rhule's excuses for not having a Spring Game was to avoid injuries. Think either of these ideas might lead to an inadvertent injury to a player?? (33%, 38 Votes)
  • Dunk tank/Sorority tug-of-war. Now these might get me to attend. A dunk tank (if Rhule was on the hot seat), and the tug-of-war ... well, Nebraska has to have at least a few cute coeds, don't they?? (30%, 35 Votes)

As CU returns to spring practices, what is the storyline you would most like to read?
  • "CU rushing attack will be for real in 2025", with the running backs and offensive line jelling under the new coaches. Far from a liability, the running game will be a strength this fall (80%, 141 Votes)
  • "The QB battle is a three-way race", with all three QB's performing well. No, we're not expecting to have a starter emerge, but I'd to hear all three are living up to expectations (13%, 22 Votes)
  • "Iron sharpening iron", with the receiver corps and the defensive backs engaged in a daily battle of talents. Neither side is dominating, with both sides of the ball competing at an All-Big 12 level (7%, 13 Votes)

The NCAA Football Oversight Committee says "no" to CU/Syracuse Spring Game. Thoughts?
  • It may have been a bit too tough to make it work this spring, but this just goes to show that Coach Prime is now being recognized as an innovator, and not an instigator (55%, 94 Votes)
  • So Syracuse men's basketball had road games at Stanford, Cal, Miami, Clemson, and SMU ... but a spring weekend for the football team at CU is too taxing on the players? Seriously, the NCAA is a joke (33%, 56 Votes)
  • It actually makes sense. It's a great idea, and I hope it comes into play in the future, but there were too many moving partis to have it happen in 2025 (12%, 21 Votes)

Coach Prime's buyouts start at $12 million (if he leaves before 12/31/25), then down to $3 million by 2029. Thoughts?
  • I'm guessing this was a sticking point in the negotiations. Every year with Coach Prime is a bonus, so I'm not going to worry about it. If Coach Prime wants to leave, a big buyout wouldn't keep him (74%, 119 Votes)
  • This works for me. If another school (or the NFL) come calling, CU is in position to recoup some of Coach Prime's salary, and have funds with which to lure the next coach (16%, 26 Votes)
  • Not really a fan. The $12 million in Year One is a mirage (NFL teams can easily wait for 1/1/26 and save $2 million). Other coaches have buyouts three to four times what CU would get (10%, 15 Votes)

  1. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  2. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  3. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
