— September 26th – Boulder No. 15 Colorado 18, Baylor 16 — The Baylor Bears, fresh off of a 33-30 win over North Carolina State (which in turn had just shocked the nation with a 24-7 win over previously 2nd-ranked Florida State) came to Boulder with aspirations of putting to rest the memories of a 2-9 1997 campaign. Missouri – CU’s 56-0-2 streak against unranked conference opponents ends

November 1st – Boulder Missouri 41, Colorado 31 Unable to capitalize upon the success of the previous two weeks, the Buffs came home and laid an egg against Missouri, losing 41-31. Colorado lost in all phases of the game, and were never able to place itself in a position to win the game in the second half. The Tigers came to Boulder 5-3, 3-2 in the Big 12. — November 29th – at Nebraska No. 4 Nebraska 17, No. 5 Colorado 12 — The headlines said it all. From the Buffalo Sports News: “Ooh, So Close”. From the Billings Gazette: “Huskers outlast Buffs”. Both statements were true. The Buffs had their chances in the 17-12 loss to Nebraska on a cold 33-degree day in Lincoln. Rain turned to snow in the late afternoon as Colorado saw the light fade on its chances to beat the Cornhuskers for the first time since 1990. The game started with great promise. …
