What grade would you give the assistant coaches on defense hired by Karl Dorrell?
- A B ... Summers still has something to prove as a DC, but Michalowski is a proven recruiter, and Martin, Maxie and Wilson are proven talents (57%, 198 Votes)
- An A ... Keeping Tyson Summers and Brian Michalowski, and adding three quality assistants ... well done, Coach Dorrell! (24%, 84 Votes)
- A C ... Let's not forget that CU gave up over 30 points/game last season (worst in five years) under Tyson Summers. Fingers crossed that he will fare better in Year Two (15%, 51 Votes)
- A D ... Keeping Summers was a mistake, and two of the three new assistants were not in college football (read: not recruiting) last year. Not a great combination (4%, 13 Votes)

Tad Boyle's Buffs finishes the regular season on a four-game losing streak. Thoughts?
- Couldn't be more disappointed/disgusted with how this season has gone into the toilet. One and done in Las Vegas, and then one-and-done in the Tournament ... to finish with a six-game losing streak. (53%, 179 Votes)
- There is still time to correct the damage. The Pac-12 tournament will give the Buffs a chance at redemption, and then everyone starts the NCAA tournament with an 0-0 record, so who knows? (35%, 118 Votes)
- A tough loss (with some questionable calls from the referees), but CU hasn't beaten Utah in Salt Lake City since 2012. A bad beat, but not fatal. In Tad we (still) trust (12%, 40 Votes)

What grade would you give the assistant coaches on offense hired by Karl Dorrell?
- A B ... I like most of the hires, but bringing in Mitch Rodrigue to coach the offensive line is a bit of a puzzle - in Karl we Trust! (58%, 178 Votes)
- An A ... Retaining Chiaverini and Hagan was crucial, and getting Danny Langsdorf to coach up the quarterbacks and be the passing game coordinator gives me great optimism for 2020 and beyond (22%, 68 Votes)
- A D ... It all starts with the offensive line, and bringing in a high school coach to run the line is a disaster waiting to happen (10%, 31 Votes)
- A C ... Chiaverini did not fare well in his first opportunity as an offensive coordinator, so it's hard to see this offense being much improved (10%, 28 Votes)

Report: CU to hire Brett Maxie as a defensive backs coach. Thoughts?
- A good hire. Certainly has experience, and the combination of Tyson Summers, Demetrice Martin and Brett Maxie will help make the CU defensive backfield as good as it can be (41%, 149 Votes)
- An excellent hire. Some 32 years in the NFL! His 13 years as a player will give him credibility with his players, and his 19 years as a coach gives CU fans confidence in his abilities (36%, 130 Votes)
- To be determined. Yet another assistant coach with little or no recruiting experience. In Karl we trust, but I am concerned about this staff (including Dorrell) not having enough recruiting savvy (23%, 85 Votes)

What do you consider to be the best news coming out of Boulder Wednesday?
- The reported solidarity of the Recruiting Class of 2020, including the "all in" statement by star DL recruit Jason Harris. Very pleased that this Class has remained largely in tact (80%, 291 Votes)
- That Karl Dorrell indicated that he is open to a graduate transfer quarterback. CU may be just an experienced quarterback away from having a bowl-worthy 2020 season (11%, 41 Votes)
- That reported hiring of Danny Langsdorf as quarterbacks coach. Years of experience as an offensive coordinator, plus recruiting experience in the west. Looks like a great hire (9%, 34 Votes)

The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
