CU At The Game Podcast – Our 2024 Season Review: “A Few of Our Favorite Things”
—
This is Stuart Whitehair, publisher and editor for the CU at the Game website, and your host for the CU at the Game podcast.
I am pleased to be joined for this episode by Neil Langland, and we are here to give you a look back at CU’s 2024 season, giving you, with apologies to the Sound of Music, our “favorite things” from the Buffs’ historic ride to a 9-4 record and CU’s second Heisman trophy.
Before we do our preview, we will spend a few minutes on the Alamo Bowl loss to BYU, but only a few, as we want to finish the 2024 podcast season on a high note.
So … Who was your favorite player on defense (not named Travis Hunter)? … Which of CU’s road wins was the most memorable? … What was your favorite part of CU’s Award Week, a week unlike any other in Buff history? … And what does CU’s nine win season mean for the program going forward, both in terms of recruiting and national recognition? …
Let’s find out …

Of the underclassman, McKinney is my guy–very solid with great upside. NHG made a huge impact and surprised that he did not venture to the NFL, but I always thought he was a 1 year player at CU. Silmon-Craig and Hodge (some did not like him, but he drew the tough assignments) had great seasons as well. BJ Greene performed as advertised. The NT’s and Dline as a whole made strides this year. If this improvement continues, I like the defense.
Offense had guys step up as well. Of the underclassman, Seaton played excellent given he was a True-Frosh. Houston was not great, but did admirable job being forced into RT. The Wrs and SS played about as expected. If we can upgrade the OLine (or returning guys improve) and the offense changes (more running, creative), even with a young/transfer QB (not a top 5 NFL QB draftee) I think our offense can progress next year.
