Mel Tucker: "I believe in this football team that we can we can get the job done” - Your degree of confidence in this statement:
  • Medium. I'm trying to keep the faith (and the USC game helped a bit), but I'm afraid its going to take several years to get back to posting winning seasons on a regular basis (52%, 163 Votes)
  • High. In his first season, Tucker has beaten two ranked teams (equal to that of MM in six seasons), and almost posted CU's first-ever win over USC. The improvement is already clear to see (34%, 106 Votes)
  • Low. Did you watch the Oregon (45-3) and Washington State (41-10) games? Another season with zero chance at a bowl before Halloween. Not seeing much of a difference from prior years (14%, 44 Votes)

Will the Pac-12 have a participant in the College Football Playoff?
  • No. The SEC will get two entrants, to go with Clemson and the winner of the Big Ten. The Pac-12 will be shut out again (48%, 119 Votes)
  • Ask me after this weekend. If Oregon (at USC) and Utah (at Washington) win this weekend, their paths to the title game get much easier, making the Pac-12 title game a matchup of two top ten teams (45%, 110 Votes)
  • Yes. Oregon is up to seventh in the polls; Utah is up to ninth. With the other contenders falling off one by one, the winner of the Pac-12 will be an entrant (7%, 17 Votes)

It's not getting any easier - CU's next two opponents (UCLA and Stanford) take out the Arizona schools. Thoughts?
  • The Buffs played well for much of the USC game. They just need to play a complete game to get over the hump. They're due to win at least one of these 50/50 games (53%, 122 Votes)
  • With a defense that can't hold anyone under 30 points, it really doesn't matter who CU plays. An 0-fer November is coming, and a 3-9 final record (with an eight game losing streak to end the season) (32%, 73 Votes)
  • If it weren't for bad luck, CU wouldn't have any luck at all. Teams which are down seem to rise up when it's time to play Colorado. The Gods are against us! (15%, 36 Votes)

USC 35, Colorado 31. Thoughts?
  • All I know - When the preseason magazines come out next spring, all that this game result will show is an "L" - CU's 14th in a row to USC. This one hurts - it could have been a program-changing win (44%, 141 Votes)
  • Fans have short memories. This was supposed to be a blowout (and looked like it after the first minute). The Buffs are growing and learning, and this experience will pay long term dividends (33%, 106 Votes)
  • It's clear that this coaching staff is new. The Buffs were not only out-played in the fourth quarter, they were out-coached. The Buffs and their fans deserve better (23%, 76 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for CU returning home to take on the USC Trojans ...
  • I believe the Buffs will play much better than they have the last two weeks, but USC has too many weapons on both sides of the ball. A closer game ... but still a USC victory (43%, 127 Votes)
  • This has all the makings of a USC blowout. The Buffs are injured in all the wrong positions to put up a fight against Troy. Make it three straight blowout losses for the sinking ship which is CU 2019 (33%, 97 Votes)
  • The Spirit of '86 lives! Just like another October 25th, when the Buffs toppled No. 3 Nebraska for the first time in 19 years, CU posts historic first win over USC! (24%, 74 Votes)

Start Date: October 24, 2019 @ 6:28 pm

  1. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  2. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  3. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
