The College Football News has CU's opener finishing Colorado 34, North Dakota State 30. Thoughts?
- I can see the Bison, with a month to prepare for their Super Bowl, keeping it close for a quarter or two, but CU's size and speed will allow the Buffs to take care of business in the second half (62%, 126 Votes)
- This is the College Football News, the same publication which called CU it's "No. 1 Team Which Will Disappoint". Press "ignore" and move on (31%, 64 Votes)
- A joke, right? Yes, North Dakota State is a very good FCS team, but an FCS team nonetheless. Next Thursday is going to a pleasurable evening - and a CU rout (7%, 14 Votes)

Which of the following units to you is the most concerning as the season opener approaches?
- The offensive line. Tyler Brown, a natural guard, is starting at tackle. The group is almost all brand new ... Until proven otherwise, this is a problem area for the Buffs (87%, 224 Votes)
- Inside linebackers. The unit was thin and unproductive last year ... and CU has the same starters this fall. Bentley and Woods will be good, or at least better, right? (9%, 22 Votes)
- Running backs. Sure, there is potential there, but no proven talent. If former walk-on Charlie Offerdahl is in the rotation, that tells me that the transfers are not working out (4%, 11 Votes)

What were your takeaways from CU's open practice in Denver?
- That the play-calling was (intentionally) vanilla, that there was plenty of support from the fans, and Coach Prime sounds very comfortable with his team (41%, 74 Votes)
- That the offensive line is still a huge question mark, CU still doesn't have a backup quarterback of note, and a lack of consistency may continue to haunt the Buffs (37%, 68 Votes)
- That CU has great depth at wide receiver, running back, and in the secondary ... and has a defensive line which will be a force this fall (22%, 40 Votes)

Which CU non-conference line (from DraftKings) would be the easiest money (if you are taking your Buffs)
- CU +6.5 at Nebraska. The Cornhuskers are starting a five-star freshman who may be great in the future. CU has a senior quarterback who is already great. Take the Buffs and the points (42%, 70 Votes)
- CU -7.5 at Colorado State. Yes, it's a road game in a hostile environment, but, this just in ... the Buffs will want to make a statement, and will rout the Rams in Ft. Collins (29%, 49 Votes)
- CU -8.5 v. North Dakota State. With trick plays and odd formations, the Bison will keep it close for awhile, but the Buffs will pull comfortably away late. Take the Buffs; give the points (29%, 49 Votes)

CU hires George Helow as a senior defensive coach. Thoughts?
- With the limits on the size of coaching staffs having been lifted, it makes sense to get as many quality coaches on staff as possible. Best use of available funds? We'll see (45%, 91 Votes)
- A nice hire. Plenty of collegiate coaching experience, including stops at Michigan, Maryland and Alabama. Welcome to the black-and-gold, Mr. Helow! (38%, 76 Votes)
- Wait, I thought that the CU coaching staff was all about NFL experience. Not to be paranoid, but does the hire (and its timing), signal concern about the current defensive coaching staff? (17%, 34 Votes)

The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
