Game time for CU at Air Force has been set: Saturday, September 10th, 1:30 p.m., MT, on CBS. Thoughts?
  • Great news! A national CBS national broadcast. If this doesn't get the Buffs fired up to take care of business against the Falcons, and make a national statement, nothing will (49%, 87 Votes)
  • I'm just surprised that this is the first broadcast for CU on CBS since 1996. I'm old enough to remember some very big games in the early 90's being on CBS (33%, 58 Votes)
  • Not a big fan, actually. I hate to say it, but with the state of the program being what it is right now, the idea of an embarrassing loss to a Mountain West team has me worried (18%, 33 Votes)

Which conclusion from the Addicted To Quack in depth look at the Colorado offense do you find rings the most true?
  • I think playable OL depth is a serious concern here. I cannot possibly imagine seeing the same bruising power-running attack that Sanford operated elsewhere working with this line (57%, 98 Votes)
  • The real problem is Dorrell, since he seems to be insisting on fitting the square peg of a pro-style, power-running, tight end-heavy offensive scheme into the round hole of CU's limited talent (23%, 39 Votes)
  • CU probably would be better off going four-wide (with or without Russell or Fauria as a split-out pass catcher) since even as a bunch of mid 3-stars this is still the most talented unit on the team (20%, 35 Votes)

Which of the following preseason prognostications to you is the most interesting?
  • ESPN: In its updated preseason Top 25, the Pac-12 has two of the top six teams of the nation, with USC ranked No. 4 and Utah in at No. 6 (54%, 69 Votes)
  • CBS Sports: With the Pac-12 eliminating the requirement for division winners to play for the Pac-12 title, a Pac-12 team will make the College Football Playoffs for the first time since 2016 (42%, 54 Votes)
  • 247 Sports: That the Pac-12 has three of the top ten best games of the 2022 season (USC at Utah; Oregon v. Georgia; Utah at Oregon) (4%, 5 Votes)

Which factoid about redshirt freshman linebacker Devin Grant to you gives you the most optimism?
  • That Grant got in at the end of the 2021 season, with an eight-tackle game starting against Utah, giving us a glimpse of what he is capable of going forward (46%, 67 Votes)
  • That Grant, despite gaining experience playing in 2020 and 2021, is still classified as a redshirt freshman, with four years of eligibility remaining (30%, 44 Votes)
  • That Grant feels that the team has taken the transfers and the poor preseason prognostications as motivation: "At the end of the day, it's all about us" (24%, 35 Votes)

With the Pac-12 scraping divisions for the purpose of determining title game participants, how should the future schedules be crafted?
  • Go with an eight-game conference schedule. You can have the pods, with the remaining five games rotated between the remaining eight schools (66%, 81 Votes)
  • Keep the nine-game conference schedule, but go with pods (CU in the "mountain" pod with the Arizona schools and Utah), with the remaining six games rotated among the other eight schools (19%, 23 Votes)
  • Keep the schedule as is: five games against "regional" teams, with the remaining four games rotated among the other six teams in the conference (15%, 19 Votes)

  1. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  2. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  3. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
