The Athletic writers have six potential teams winning the Big 12 (none being CU), with BYU the heavy favorite. Thoughts?
  • The fact that six different teams made the list shows you how wide open it will be this fall. Buffs just need to take care of their own business (and roster), and we'll see how the season goes (57%, 82 Votes)
  • Just some more bulletin board material for the Champions Center. The over/under was 3.5 wins for Year One; 5.5 for Year Two. Look for CU to be underestimated again this fall (34%, 48 Votes)
  • Makes sense. BYU looked like world beaters when they roughed up the Buffs. Recency bias: BYU good; CU not good. It's seven months to the start of the season, so I'm not concerned (9%, 13 Votes)

Nebraska may cancel its Spring Game so as to not "showcase" its players for Transfer Portal poaching. Thoughts?
  • This sounds like a little too much paranoia, even for Matt Rhule. You think that other teams don't know what players you have on your roster, and can't make contact through their "agents"? (48%, 85 Votes)
  • All I know is that if Coach Prime did this, it would be a national story, and the haters would be all over CU for not treating their fans to a Spring Showcase (42%, 75 Votes)
  • Actually, this might not be a bad idea. Having your players on display for other teams to review - and potentially recruit - may be counter-productive (10%, 18 Votes)

CU's Spring Game set for April 19th. Any interest in attending?
  • Probably not. Attendance went from 47,277 in Year One to 28,424 in Year Two. Probably going to continue to decline, especially if the game is just a glorified scrimmage (35%, 68 Votes)
  • Definitely. CU hasn't been on the field since the end of December (and hasn't played well since the end of November), so seeing the Buffs back on the field is a must see! (33%, 64 Votes)
  • Maybe. Probably depends on the weather, and how the interest in the Buffs is peaking at the time. Will there be a quarterback battle? How are the transfers working out? May be worth a watch (32%, 60 Votes)

CU opens as a 4.5-point underdog in the 2025 season opener against Georgia Tech. Thoughts?
  • Get used to it. In the off-season of "CU can't win without Shedeur and Travis", the "regression" of CU will be the narrative until the Buffs take to the field (and win) this fall (61%, 93 Votes)
  • The line makes sense, at least seven months out. CU's lineup will again be shaken up this spring, and we're still looking for an offensive line coach (and Coach Prime's extension!) (28%, 42 Votes)
  • Get on FanDuel and take the bet! The Buffs are as good, if not better, than the Yellow Jackets. I get that Georgia Tech has a returning starting QB, but the Buffs are good, and will be at home (11%, 17 Votes)

Which stat about Travis Hunter being named a first-team All-Academic All-American is the most impressive?
  • Counting major trophies and two National POTY honors, he is the first non-QB to win eight awards in a single season and the first to win those plus the Academic All-American of the Year (66%, 112 Votes)
  • He is the first player in CU history to be named a unanimous first-team All-American and first-team Academic All-American (25%, 42 Votes)
  • Hunter is the third Heisman Trophy winner to be named first-team Academic All-America the same season, joining Florida’s Danny Wuerffel in 1996 and Tim Tebow in 2008 (9%, 16 Votes)

  1. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  2. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  3. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
