CU men's basketball team moves up to No. 18 in AP poll; CU women up to No. 3. Thoughts?
  • Great news, and great recognition for both teams. It is going to be a great season for both programs - I hope the Buff Nation fills the Events Center like they did Folsom Field (63%, 114 Votes)
  • I'm just happy for the distraction from all of the negativity surrounding the CU football program right now. Perhaps away from the spotlight, the football team will regroup for one last strong effort (20%, 36 Votes)
  • A great start ... but we saw what happened after the football team got off to a great start. Happy for the Buffs, but it's still November ... we're still a long way from March Madness (17%, 32 Votes)

CU opens as a 20.5-point underdog on the road against Utah (Saturday, 1:00 p.m., MT, Pac-12 Networks). Thoughts?
  • The Buffs are limping to the finish line with five straight losses. One early score by Utah and they will quit. Take the Utes minus-anything. This is going to be another rout (66%, 139 Votes)
  • Unless Vegas has information that Shedeur isn't going to play (which hasn't been the narrative), this seems like a line which is too high. Two touchdowns? Sure. Three touchdowns? Not seeing it (25%, 53 Votes)
  • A pretty huge over-reaction to CU's loss to Washington State. Did Vegas see that Utah fell behind Arizona by four touchdowns a quarter faster than CU did? (9%, 20 Votes)

Which of the following fellow first-year head coaches would you trade Coach Prime for?
  • None of the above. Coach Prime has a learning curve as a Power Five coach, but this is just his first season. He won conference titles at Jackson State - but in Years Two and Three, not Year One (93%, 244 Votes)
  • Purdue's Ryan Walters. A former Buff, he has proven he can put together a top Power Five defense. When was the last time CU had that? (3%, 7 Votes)
  • Nebraska's Matt Rhule. He has resurrected two college football programs before, and he will do it at Nebraska, without the fanfare (2%, 5 Votes)
  • Arizona State's Kenny Dillingham. His team has been improving over the course of the year ... not something you could say about the Buffs (2%, 4 Votes)
  • Stanford's Troy Taylor. He has proven he can do more with less, and he orchestrated the come-from-behind win over CU which ruined the Buffs' season (0%, 2 Votes)

Washington State 56, Colorado 14. Thoughts?
  • Well, we wondered all season what the Buffs would look like without Shedeur Sanders ... I guess we don't have to wonder about that any longer. Can we just forfeit the Utah game? (35%, 71 Votes)
  • Coach Prime said that CU was progressing, and had only been blown out by a Top 5 Oregon team ... Where's the "progress" now, Coach? CU is back to being a national embarrassment and a punchline (35%, 71 Votes)
  • I guess it's time to start focusing in on CU basketball. At least both the basketball teams are ranked ... It's going to be hard to talk about football this off-season (again) (30%, 63 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for Colorado at Washington State (Friday, 8:30 p.m., MT, FS1)
  • I'm excited about this game! The Buffs can get on the road and focus on getting win No. 5. Buffs are 3-1 v. unranked opponents this fall ... make that 4-1 after Friday night! (68%, 163 Votes)
  • As Coach Prime keeps noting, this team needs to learn how to win. Hard to do that on the road on a short week. I'm predicting another close ... and another frustrating ... loss (21%, 51 Votes)
  • I hate to be the one to say it, but I think CU's last best chance at a win went through the uprights at the final gun last Saturday. Buffs won't have much left in the tank ... I see a big WSU win (11%, 26 Votes)

  1. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  2. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  3. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
