Based on projections, Washington will be favored in every game they play; CU will be favored in only one (CSU). Thoughts on which is less likely to happen?
  • I'm just glad that we are less than a month from the start of Fall Camp, when we can focus on actual football, instead of dealing with preseason prognostications which have no basis in reality (57%, 117 Votes)
  • Colorado's projections are off. Picking the Buffs to only beat CSU (only G5 opponent) is just lazy. Just like the 3.5 over/under - no one knows what to make of the Buffs (34%, 71 Votes)
  • Washington's projections are off. Oregon and Utah games are at home, but USC is on the road. I can't see the Huskies going undefeated against all three (not to mention upset possibilities) (9%, 18 Votes)

Vegas has CU as the seventh-best bet in the Pac-12 to win the national championship (250:1), while at the same time setting CU's over/under for wins at 3.5. Which bet makes more sense?
  • I just like being a national wild card. The uncertainty breeds more interest, and more interest breeds more dollars for CU and more exposure for recruits. Lovin' the ride! (66%, 105 Votes)
  • The low over/under win total. There are so many unknowns on the roster, and such a tough schedule, that putting CU at 3-4 wins makes the most sense (26%, 42 Votes)
  • Giving CU a better chance to win the national title than the Bay Area schools, the Arizona schools, and Washington State. "We comin' " is real! (8%, 13 Votes)

Two months out from the season opener, what is your prediction for CU's 2023 win total?
  • 4-6 wins. Regardless of what the pundits say, bowl-eligibility is the real goal for Season One of the Coach Prime era. Not sure if they'll get there, but I'd love to see a season with six wins (70%, 191 Votes)
  • 7-10 wins. Folks just don't seem to realize that this is a completely new team. Judging CU by prior season's standards is just wrong. Coach Prime expects CU to win every game, and it's possible (25%, 67 Votes)
  • 0-3 wins. I'd love to see improvement, but the reality is that improvement will mean not getting blown out. If CU had an easier schedule, I would be more optimistic, but as it is ... (5%, 13 Votes)

After reading the Fall Camp Preview on CU's running backs, who do you predict will be the starter August 2nd?
  • Sophomore Houston transfer Alton McCaskill. A coveted portal recruit, McCaskill was the AAC Freshman Offensive Player of the Year two years ago, and will have fresh legs (59%, 126 Votes)
  • Senior Kentucky transfer Kavosiey Smoke. This is Smoke's final chance to impress NFL scouts, and he will make the most of the opportunity (26%, 55 Votes)
  • Freshman Dylan Edwards. Before CU starting loading up on transfers, Buff fans were amazed that this former Notre Dame commit was a Buff. He was in Boulder for spring ball, so he'll have a leg up (8%, 17 Votes)
  • Junior Jackson State transfer Sy’veon Wilkerson. With the issues of "chemistry" for the team a potential issue, why not have Shedeur's backfield mate behind him for Game One (7%, 14 Votes)

Which of the following newly minted members of the Big 12 will fare the best in their inaugural season this fall?
  • BYU - 8-5 as an independent last fall. These Cougars have been longing for a Power Five invitation for decades, and will take advantage of their opportunity (and altitude) this season (41%, 67 Votes)
  • Cincinnati - 9-4, 6-2 in the AAC last fall. Critics feel that there will be a drop-off for the Bearcats, but I'm not seeing it. A former playoff team, Cincinnati can play with the big boys (23%, 38 Votes)
  • Houston - 8-5, 5-3 in the AAC last fall. These Cougars have been playing little brother to the Big 12 Texas teams for too long, and will relish the chance to play on an equal footing this fall (22%, 37 Votes)
  • Central Florida - 9-5, 6-2 in the AAC last fall. Scott Frost may not be the head coach, but this team was recently 13-0, and will take advantage of conference opponents long road trips to Orlando (14%, 23 Votes)

  1. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  2. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  3. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
